those packages are deprecated and are only there for legacy reasons

it is in any way recommended to use pd-extended and a up-to-date netpd archive from download.

recommended for beginners. no configuration/dependencies necessary. if you are new to pd, your are right here. choose the package for your operating system:

pd-netpd-win32.zip (MS Windows)

zip-archive containing pd for windows, all necessary libraries and netpd.

install instructions are inside the package.

tar.gz containing pd-0.40-2 compiled for OSX 10.3 (works for 10.4, 10.5). we have also very good experience with pd-extended autobuild
